A professional at home facial from our Fashionista, Andy Paige!

She writes; I am missing my beauty services…how about you?  Hair cuts, waxing, Botox!!!  Oh my goodness, when I look in the mirror I have to remind myself that this is only temporary!  Ha!  I will live to be groomed again!!  Hahah!

The one thing I’ve been doing for myself is complete spa level facials!  I love the relaxation and results of a thorough facial and with more time on my hands I’ve been enjoying the relaxing detailed work of tending to my skin.

There are about 9 steps to a thorough facial, and when you truly take the time to do them all, the results are noticeable. Carve out an hour and do this for yourself. It’s worth it.

  1. Remove makeup
  2. Thoroughly cleanse
  3. Exfoliate
  4. Steam your face
  5.  Extractions
  6. Apply a mask (see recipes below)
  7. Tone
  8. Moisturize
  9. Message or use a face roller.

Professional facials can cost $100-$500 dollars depending on the masks and treatments, so learning to do them for yourself right now can be both good for your skin and wallet. It’s not that hard and you’re definitely worth it.

Mask recipes: To cleanse your skin and tighten the pores, slather some plain yogurt on your face and let it sit for about 20 minutes. For a revitalizing homemade face mask, mix 1 teaspoon plain yogurt with the juice from 1/4 slice of orange, some of the orange pulp, and 1 teaspoon aloe. Leave the mixture on your face for at least five minutes before rinsing it off.
