A friend of mine was just diagnosed with cancer. It’s a tough time as we wait for more details. I can’t help but relive the experience of my mom and grandmother who both were diagnosed with cancer one month apart and nineteen months later passed away, one month apart. The kicker is that my friend and I are about the same age that my mom was when she was diagnosed.
We prayed and believed for healing but it didn’t come this side of heaven. While I didn’t see the miracle in my family, I’ve seen it in many others. But still, the twinge of doubt and fear hides in the back of my mind. Then I hear the Lord say,
“Don’t let the limit of your experience limit your hope in the Lord.”
I’m so glad that God is always inviting us to trust in his goodness.
Have you felt the power of joy in the Lord?

Have you seen the Lord provide in big ways? Have you seen someone healed?

Have you seen or heard about someone being raised from the dead? Woah, that took a turn! The others seem so much more realistic but the reality is, we pick and chose what we believe based on our experiences.
If you haven’t seen or felt these things do you believe he can do it?
We often struggle to believe the things we haven’t seen. But scripture tells us that He is able to do so much more than our current experiences.
”When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.“ ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭3‬:‭14‬-‭20‬ ‭NLT‬‬
This new year, let’s fill our minds and hearts with the hope that God wants to expand the boundaries of our experiences and fill us with great joy!
