My family makes this each year for the 4th of July, and I thought I’d share it with you! It is easily customizable for any holiday or celebration!
INGREDIENTS:
6 cups Chex cereal
1 package white candy melts
1/2 cup white cake mix
1 cup powdered sugar
6 tbsp sprinkles, color of your choice
1/2 cup mini marshmallows
1.5 cups M&M candies, color of your choice
DIRECTIONS:
1. In a medium (microwavable) bowl, melt white chocolate candy melts in microwave. This can take up to 2 minutes, check every 30 seconds and stir.
2. Remove the bowl from the microwave and add cake mix to the melted chocolate. Stir well.
3. In an extra large mixing bowl, add the cereal. Pour the melted chocolate over the top of the cereal mixture and toss to coat.
4. Add in powedered sugar and toss gently. The powdered sugar will stick to the melted chocolate.
5. Add in sprinkles, M&Ms, and marshmallows, toss to mix.
6. Allow to cool completely before serving in a large bowl.
Notes:
You can save some M&Ms to sprinkle over the top of the puppy chow while in a serving bowl for extra color!
