Just in case you didn’t know what “thwart” meant…

I’m sure we can all recite this verse, right? Jeremiah 29:11 which says “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. (NLT)

So can you mess that up?

My word for 2022 is “pause”. To try to take a beat and think before I react. Ponder before I proceed. Wait, before I rush in. But less than 2 weeks into the year, I took a very big jump. I did pray about it and asked the Lord to guide me and make a way if there was supposed to be a way or to close a door if it was the wrong thing.

Well, doors SEEMED to open…or did I start pushing them? Have you ever wondered that? Like how do you know? Are you overcoming obstacles and persevering OR are you going down a path God didn’t want you to go on in the first place? If you made the wrong decision, can He still make it “work together for His good”? What about the promise that he has “plans for good and not for disaster”?

I wish I could wrap this all up in a bow and say just like a Hollywood script, “they all lived happily ever after”. But I’m still in the midst of it all. I’m still learning. I’ve questioned if I’ve gotten ahead of God or if He was pushing me. I really don’t know.

But there are things I DO know. God is good. All the time. And if we’re constantly seeking Him in everything, He is in control of the plan. He is FOR ME, He is FOR ME, He is FOR ME! Don’t ever doubt that He is FOR YOU! If you’re facing a decision, pray about it and seek wise counsel. God will give you wisdom. He promised.

And if you feel like the world is going to come crashing down around you because you messed everything up…remember this…

I can’t wait to tell you how this all turns out. ~Brooke
