There’s a surprising new trend on the horizon for couples who get engaged. Some couples are for it, while others think that it breaks tradition.
The idea? Splitting the price of an engagement ring. Couples who are trying to save money are repurposing jewelry they’ve inherited or are simply splitting the cost of a new ring. This way, an engagement ring can be personally meaningful to the couple — without breaking the bank.
The wedding website “The Knot” posed the question of whether it’s a good idea to split the cost, and the response was varied. Samantha Daniels, a professional matchmaker and founder of Samantha’s Table Matchmaking, has noticed more couples paying jointly for a ring. Good idea? Or, not so much?
