Peppermint Bark

It’s the season of sweet treats, isn’t it?! I’ve bought this before for about $7 a pound! No more! Now I can make it and serve it and even give it as gifts! It’s SO easy!

INGREDIENTS

  • 12 oz. Chocolate Chips
  • 12 oz. White Chocolate Chips, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Peppermint Extract
  • 8 Candy Canes, crushed

DIRECTIONS

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
  2. Fill the bottom of a large pot halfway with water and bring to simmer over medium heat. Reduce heat to low, then place a large heatproof bowl on top. Add chocolate chips and stir occasionally until chocolate has melted.
  3. Stir in extract
  4. Pour into prepared baking sheet and spread into an even layer
  5. Refrigerate until set, about 15-20 minutes
  6. Over the same pot of barely simmering water, place another (or cleaned 1st bowl) large heatproof bowl. Add white chocolate and stir until melted.
  7. Pour over set semi-sweet chocolate then top immediately with candy canes
  8. Refrigerate until set, about 15-20 minutes
