Perhaps my weekend trip to Talladega influenced this week’s tip just a little. The iconic checkered flag, coveted by race car drivers sparked the memory of all of the checkerboard prints I saw on the 21/22 runways.
The famous print worn in the 60’s and then made super famous by Vans in the 90’s – who didn’t have a checkerboard pair of slip-ons – is now runway hot once more.
The black and white print looks very chic and fashionable when paired with other prints, because shockingly, it’s a neutral. It looks great with bold colors and is a perfect pattern for both clothing and accessories.
If you’re looking for a wardrobe boost, add a little checkerboard pattern. You can’t go wrong.
