One neighborhood has responded to the cabin-fever from COVID-19 in a creative and uplifting way! A neighborhood game of “I Spy”.
Originally one resident had asked neighbors to tape paper shamrocks to their front window or draw them in chalk on the driveway. Thus creating a neighborhood shamrock scavenger hunt. The kids could tally how many they found and then post it back in the neighborhood Facebook group.
The response was so positive that she ended up drawing up a calendar with themed days to get them through mid-April. Themes included Disney characters, Mario, hearts for health workers, dinosaurs, and a bunny hunt. To add even more fun, kids are encouraged to dress up while they search.
For any neighbor that didn’t have a themed object, decoration, or chalk, another resident created packs of coloring sheets she would leave in your mailbox.
