Proverbs 27:17″As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”

Who surrounds you? Are you being sharpened by the company you keep?

Some people in your life don’t sharpen you—they dull you. I know that may sound harsh. But the truth is that some people just don’t sharpen you. They dull you. They make you less effective. They create stress for you. They create problems for you. They make life more difficult for you. They don’t help you become more like Jesus.

Sometimes spending time with these kind people is inevitable, and that is ok. (You may actually be helping to sharpen them. Good job!) However, try to limit the amount of time you spend with people who dull you, and balance it out by spending time with those who sharpen you.

In an ideal world, the people we spend the most time with would be the people who most sharpen us. The truth is that it’s better to be close to those things that help us…and far away from those things that hurt us.
