How’s your day going?
Or better yet, how’s your joy today?
One of my favorite ways to test where I’m at is 1 Peter 1:8,
“Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy,”
Is my joy inexpressible and glorious today? If not, I back up a bit in the verse, where am I at in my faith? Do I trust that I am loved or that God is at work on my behalf? Or, am I believing the lie that God doesn’t care, that things are too far gone for me to have joy, or that people like me don’t get to have the fullness of joy that others get.
The reality is, we all believe lies about joy.
– it’s just not my personality
– my life is too hard to have joy
– I’m too serious to be clowning around and joyful
– joy isn’t necessary to be a Christian
The truth is, JOY IS FOR YOU. Abundant, powerful and contagious joy is not only what you need, but so does the world around you.
I’m celebrating with great joy today. My book the Joy Bringer Challenge comes out and it’s all to the glory of God! It’s taken a lot of work not only to complete it and weather the publishing process, but to hold fast to the truth that no matter the circumstances, joy abounds. Joy abounds because Jesus is always with us. He is our joy.
I want you to know that kind of joy. I want you to receive it and bring it everywhere you go! Jesus came to bring us great joy, and you too can a Joy Bringer!
Joyfully,
Season
