“God is so good!”

How many times have you heard that declared in response to an answered prayer? So often, right?

Yes, God is so good. Of course! But what if God didn’t choose to answer our prayer in the manner which we had hoped? Does that make him any less good?

No. Of course not.

God is good not because of what he does. God is good simply because of who he is!

Is it wrong to celebrate God’s goodness when something good happens? No. But that isn’t the only time we should celebrate God’s goodness. We should celebrate God’s goodness regardless of our circumstances!

This is why, sometimes instead of saying “God is good,” I use the phrase, “God is so faithful.”
If our circumstances are good–God is faithful.
If our circumstances are bad–God is faithful.

Psalm 36:5 5  “Your steadfast love, O Lord, extends to the heavens, your faithfulness to the clouds.”

God’s character never waivers or changes! God’s faithfulness means that he is with you in the good, the bad and the ugly.

When I think of faithfulness, I think of consistency over time. God has proven himself time and time again that he can be trusted–no matter what.

It is an oldie, but still one of my all-time favorite songs that shout the faithfulness of God!
