Recently, on a training run, I noticed that I was having a strange issue; a pain in my left foot. Ok, not really in the foot, but underneath my foot.

For some reason, in the midst of my run, something got into my shoe. How in the world does this happen?! I never stopped and took my shoes off. I was just running. Suddenly, “The Annoyance Fairy” dropped some annoyance into my shoe.

Instead of stopping and taking my shoe off to see this annoying thing, I just tried to deal with it. (insert clip of, “Ain’t Nothin’ Gonna Break My Stride”) Maybe I was being stubborn, but I just didn’t want to stop. (can you relate?)

So, I pushed my way through the run. And let me tell ya, each step was very uncomfortable. But did I stop? Noooooooo! What happens if, “The Annoyance Fairy” visits during a race. I’ve gotta prepare, right?

Well, after my run ended, I took my shoe off to see the “little present” the “fairy” placed in my shoe.

Weighing in at a whopping 0.003 ounces, I was touched by, “The Pebble Fairy”. Seriously? That little pebble caused that much discomfort?

Hmmm. Makes you wonder, what other “small things” in life, that you think you can just deal with, are actually causing great discomfort?

So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things. How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire!
James 3:5

Watch for the little pebbles. Go make a difference. Always Run by Faith!
